Southern Tier Brewing Company - Google Street View Tour

Photo Shoot at Southern Tier Brewery

A couple weeks ago I thought the best photo shoot was Tagsylvania.  At the time it was, perhaps because it was days before Halloween or because it was unique.  However, I think I have a new favorite which has topped my list.  Last week Places.Mobile did a Google Street View Indoor Tour of the Southern Tier Brewing Company.  Not only was it an amazing tour, but it was educational, inspirational and awe-inspiring.

First Contact

I would consider myself one who enjoys the taste of beer.  Like a wine connoisseur, I enjoy beer for its multiple facets of flavor and endless possibilities.  From the art, to the skill, the fragrance and taste, to the hundreds of ingredients that make up the thousands of possibilities in unique brewing, beer is an amazing thing.  So when Southern Tier Brewing was interested in doing a tour of the facility, you can say we were thrilled at the opportunity to tour one of my families favorite brewery's.  As it turns out, they were just as excited to be represented on Google with a Street View Indoors Tour.

The Brewery

Southern Tier Brewing Company is only 11 years old, yet it is currently in the 50 best and largest breweries in the nation.  The facility we toured, which opened in 2012, is located in Lakewood, NY.  I have been to breweries before, like Wagner Valley Brewing Company, but this facility was one to remember.

Southern Tier Brewing Company is in production 24/7.  They have over 24 fermenting tanks inside and out, each able to ferment 80 barrels of beer at any given time and produce over 90,000 barrels of beer annually.  Their beer is shipped nationwide, and produces flavors sure to satisfy even the most picky of beer drinker's pallets.  Aside from their nine, Year Round Standard they have a large selection of seasonal beers such as the Pumpking (fall), Old Man Winter, Warlock, and thirteen other unique beers.

Being such an immaculate facility, they do offer guided tours there.  The tours included a look through their beer making facility and includes beer tasting at the end.  They sell all sorts of merchandise such as tee's, Frisbee, zip shirts, and more.  Take a look at the tour embedded here, or on their Google+ Page.
